Badminton League Grand Prix: Mangalore Sharks and Bandipur Tuskers record identical wins

With the win, the Sharks climbed to the top of the standings with 11 points from two games while Mandya Bulls are second with 10 points.

The Sharks took a 3-0 lead following their victory over “Trump” in women’s singles and men’s doubles.

However, they lost the singles and mixed doubles match, a plus for their rivals as the scores were tied at 3-3. In a super tight game, the Mandya Bulls scored eight points in a row to nearly catch the Sharks as the latter cruised to a narrow 21-19 win to earn three points.

In the previous game of the day, Kodagu Tigers fielded Rujula Ramu in their opener (women’s singles) which was also their trump game. The youngster lived up to her reputation by giving her team two points by beating Alifya Riyas.

Doubles duo Abhisehk Yeligar and Vaibhav V then restored parity after winning their trump match (men’s doubles). Abhishek Yeligar gave the Tuskers the lead in men’s singles, but the mixed pair of Saneeth Dayanand and Ramya Venkatesh equalized for the Tigers.
