F1 and Tata Communications announce their collaboration | Race News

MUMBAI: Formula One and Tata Communications on Wednesday announced a multi-year strategic collaboration to deliver a world-class event and innovative experience for fans around the world.
As Tata Communications returned to the sport as the official broadcast connectivity provider, it would equip Formula 1 with end-to-end managed global network services for video contribution, according to a statement.

For this, the company will facilitate the transfer of over 100 video streams and over 250 audio channels to be transmitted between the Grand Prix venue and the F1 Media & Technology Center in the UK each race weekend in less than 200 milliseconds, enabling F1 to broadcast to over 500 million fans in over 180 territories worldwide.
Formula 1 Chairman and CEO Stefano Domenicali said: “We are delighted to welcome Tata Communications back as a partner following the previous successes of our partnerships. They have been an integral part of our growth journey over the past decade, and we have complete confidence in their expertise and our abilities to provide what we need for our fans.”
“As businesses move towards a digital model, I believe the sports world also has a great opportunity to leverage technology to deliver innovative and exhilarating experiences for motorsports enthusiasts,” said Amur S Lakshminarayanan, MD and CEO of Tata Communications.
