JKP organizes “Kashmir Half Marathon” in Srinagar

Srinagar, October 31: To celebrate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Jammu and Kashmir Police held Sunday Run for Unity / Run for Peace “Kashmir Half Marathon” here at Police Golf Course, Dal Lake Srinagar.

ADGP SJM Gillani, has scored out of the race in various distance and age categories.

Hundreds of participants, including young people, students and children, had engulfed the area to participate in the marathon.

Police Director General J&K Dilbag Singh was the guest of honor at the occasion and also handed out cash prizes and trophies to the winners.

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, DIG CKR Sujit Kumar, SSP Srinagar, Sandeep Choudhary, IRP / Armed Battalion Commanders and other APHQ and Kashmir Zone officers attended the flag handover and ceremony distribution of prizes.

While addressing the media, DGP said Jammu and Kashmir police regularly hold various sporting events across the valley in which young people of different age groups participate, including Jash-ne-Dal and the cycling race. , etc.

“I congratulate J&K Armed Police for organizing such an event which was attended by over 700 participants of different age categories,” he said.

He also congratulated all the winners, participants for participating in the event and for contributing to the success of the marathon.

“Today’s day is celebrated as National Unity Day across the country, during which all compatriots pledge to strengthen the sovereignty and integrity of the country,” Singh added.

In conclusion, the winners of various events were honored with cash prizes and trophies from DGP, J&K and other executives.

In the 21 Kilometer Half Marathon Men, Muneer Ahmad Dar from Srinagar secured the first position which received a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 / -, Nishu Kumar from Amritsar placed second and she received a prize in cash of Rs.35,000 / -, Sayed Gulbadin from Ganderbal reached the third position and received a cash prize of Rs.25,000.

In the 21 kilometer half marathon for professional athletes, Hans Raj from Kathua secured the first position and received Rs. 30,000 / -, Balwinder Singh from Jammu reached the second position and won a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 / -, Tahir Aziz Malik from Anantnag placed third and received Rs. 25,000 / =.

In 10KM road race for boys over 14 years old, Mushtaq Ahmad from Anantnag took the first position by winning a cash prize of Rs.35,000 / -, Aran Chandel from Udhampur the second prize of Rs. 25,000 / -, Sahil Kumar from Udhampur got the third prize of Rs.20,000 / -.

In 10 km road race for girls over 14 years old, Sara Naqash from Srinagar secured the first position with a cash prize of Rs.35,000 / -, Zoobiya Tariq from Srinagar second prize of Rs.25,000 / -, and Insha Wadoo from Srinagar got the third prize of Rs.20,000 / -,

In the 5 KM Sub Junior boys under 14 category, Basit Abbas won the first position and a cash prize of Rs. 20,000 / -, Arfat Bashir won the second prize of Rs. 15,000 / -, Asif Rashid received a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 / for securing the third position.

Yasir Furqaan got fourth place and won Rs. 5,000 / -, Jehangir Ahmad 5th place Rs. 3,000 / -, Rs 2,000 / each was awarded to Majid Ahad, Aqib Ahmed Gojri, Aiyaan Yaqoob, Manatpreet Singh and Hashim-ul-Nabi for obtaining the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th positions respectively.

In the age category 4 KM Sub Junior under 14, Afroza Jan won the first position and received a cash prize of Rs. 20,000 / -, Tarhum Soliha 2nd position won the prize of Rs. 15 000 / -, Nabila Khan won 3rd place for Rs. 10,000 /, Snowber Manzoor got 4th place and won Rs. 5,000 / -, Adeeba Gulzar 5th place Rs. 3,000 / -, 2,000 rupees / each was awarded to Farah Ahad, Sameenah Sana, Asmat Jan, Bintal Huda and Safiya Gul for obtaining the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th positions respectively.

In the 2km race for specially challenged boys, Makhan Lal Sharma won 1st prize of Rs. 15,000 / -, Rahil Ahmad won 2nd prize of 10,000 / -, Irshad Ahmad won 3rd prize of Rs . 6,000 / -, Irfan Ahmad won 4th prize of Rs. 5,000 / – and Tawheed Hamid won 5th prize of Rs. 3000 / -.

While in the same category for girls, Sadiya won 1st prize of Rs. 15,000 / -, Syed Qaasirah won 2nd prize of Rs. 10,000 / -, Atiqa Manzoor won 3rd prize of Rs. 6 000 / -, Zainab Hassan won the 4th prize of Rs. 5,000 / -, and Sahreen Ashiq won the 5th prize of Rs. 3000 / -.

Within the framework of the 2 KM “Run for Fun” category, the winners Firdous Ah Khan, Noora, Arham Khan and Qaifa Furqaan received consolation prizes.
