Live horse racing results plus tips and best bets for Chepstow, Huntingdon and Sedgefield
Memories of the Cheltenham Festival fade and it’s off to the Grand National at Aintree.
The Scottish National takes place in Ayr before then and we will be planning next month’s action every day.
Join us today for 20 competitive National Hunt Races. The first of a trio of meetings is due to start at 1:00 p.m. in Huntingdon, where the ground is officially described as good, good to soft in places.
The featured event is the Class 3 Racing TV Handicap Hurdle, which takes place at 3:10.
Only four are expected to come online for a top prize of over £11,000, with the course trained by Kim Bailey and distance winner Ajero looking to hold strong claims. There are six races on the card, until 3:40.
It’s good, good to mild in places at Chepstow, where they’ll start the first of seven races at 1:55.
The pick of the action on the Welsh track appears to be the Roofbase Handicap Chase (3:31). The top prize of £9,803 attracted a double-digit field, with Just Your Type formed by Charlie Longsdon the market leader overnight.
There are also interesting fayres in Sedgefield. Things are going well and the first of seven races is due to start at 2:12.
The County Durham track doesn’t have too many Class 2 races on its schedule, so the WF-Racing Keeping You On Course Handicap Hurdle (3:17) really is the feature.
Only a handful will compete for a prize of just under £10,000, including last year’s winner Ashington. Brian Ellison’s gelding showed signs of returning to form last time out and he’s banking on repeat success from a lower 2-pound mark.
We’ll be there for every furlong and you can follow the action in our LIVE blog with all of our man Garry Owen’s top tips, breaking news and gossip.
