Paradigm Pro’s “UWFi Rules Contenders” Series Set to Return with Middleweight Grand Prix

SELLERSBURG, June 23, 2021 – Paradigm Pro Wrestling and IndependentWrestling.TV (IWTV) are teaming up again – this time to launch a special three-part edition of the UWFi Rules Contestants Series starting today at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT.

The theme of the special edition will be Cole Radrick and the Super Middleweight Grand Prix, a tournament of 16 fighters to crown the first UWFi Rules super middleweight champion. The first round matches will be broadcast tonight, with the quarter-finals being broadcast on Wednesday, June 30, and the semi-finals and finals on Wednesday, July 7.

As the name suggests, every fight in the series is contested under UWFi rules. Paradigm Pro Wrestling often uses a modernized version of the rule set from the now defunct Union of Professional Wrestling Forces International promotion in Japan. UWFi Rules are essentially a hybrid of traditional professional wrestling and mixed martial arts. The main difference is that under UWFi rules there are no drops – matches can only be won by KO, TKO, submission or points.

“It’s called one of our best UWFi rules actions to date. We had sixteen very hungry fighters looking to make a name for themselves. Plus, UWFi original Billy Scott , was the tournament commissioner and organized a training session for the tournament participants – in his own words – this is professional shooting style wrestling at the highest level. “said the PPW co-owner, Gary J. Wilson.

Tournament participants include former Paradigm champions Cole radrick and Freddie hudson, jiu-jitsu fighters Jordan blade and Damian tangra, representatives of the New South Brandon williams and Kung-Fu Janela, Camp Leapfrog representatives Travis Huckabee and Molly mccoyamateur wrestling stars Cody lee and Nick King, muay thai fighter Lexus Ride, former AIW team champion nasty russ, Zero-1 USA Jr. Heavyweight Champion Vanalog ictor, fighter to the death Phoenix kidd, and the high flight Jaiden.

The June 30 and July 7 episodes will also include non-tournament UWFi rules action featuring the 2019 Grand Prix champion. Dominique garrini, Braedon Ward, best pupil of Billy Scott, The lost boys (“Hoodfoot” Atlas of Mo, Vacation hunting, Adam slade), The Von England (Sidney and Eden), Maximum zero, Jeffrey john, and others.

PPW became the first promotion to use the UWFi ruleset and points system in the United States in 25 years in November 2019 during the inaugural Fighting Spirit Heavyweight Grand Prix. Since then, UWFi Rules fights have been a key part of Paradigm Pro events.

The UWFi Rules Contenders series returns tonight at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on IndependentWrestling.TV, the world’s largest independent wrestling library. The following episodes will air the next two Wednesdays thereafter on IWTV at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT.

The IWTV streaming service is available on Roku, Amazon FireTV, Apple TV, iOS, Google Play, and more. Seasons 1 and 2 of the series are also available for on-demand viewing.
