LONG RANGE (CBSLA) – The streets are starting to close in downtown today ahead of this weekend’s Long Beach Acura Grand Prix. The event is returning after the pandemic forced a cancellation in 2020 for the first time since early 1975.

The Grand Prix is ​​scheduled to take place Friday through Sunday, but some street closures will last until Monday evening, so plan accordingly.

Wednesday

5:00 am: Closure of the side streets of Shoreline Drive and Seaside Way leading to the racetrack.
7:00 a.m .: Shoreline Drive Westbound Closure, Queensway Bridge Northbound Exit Ramp Closure, Queensway Bridge Southbound Access Ramp Closure from Shoreline Drive, Aquarium Lane Closure south of Shoreline Drive.
3 p.m .: Shoreline Drive eastbound from Broadway to Ocean Blvd.

Pine Avenue will remain open to traffic for visitors to the Hyatt, waterfront restaurants, Shoreline Village and Shoreline Marina tenants. Chestnut Place or Golden Shore Avenue will provide access to the Aquarium of the Pacific. Valet parking will be available for guests dining at waterfront restaurants. Shoreline Village also has parking. All vehicles entering Avenue des Pins will exit east through the Marina Green parking lot.

6:00 a.m .: Access to the Hyatt, Shoreline Village and Shoreline Marina from Ocean Boulevard and Pine Avenue will be closed, and Pine Avenue southbound will be closed to all traffic.

Access to the south side of the track will be provided at the intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Alamitos Avenue and will only be available to holders of Grand Prix passes and boat owner’s licenses, according to the association. .

The inner streets of The Pike, north of Shoreline Drive, will also be closed.

9:30 p.m .: The Ocean Boulevard and Alamitos Avenue driveway will close at 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Traffic will be re-established east and west of Shoreline Drive at 5 p.m. Monday, as will the Queensway Bridge exit ramp northbound, the Queensway Bridge access ramp southbound from the Parkway. Shoreline, eastbound and westbound from Seaside Way, northbound and southbound from Pine Avenue, northbound and Shoreline Village Drive southbound, as well as all service roads and internal streets of The Pike facility .
