Unstoppable swimmer Mojdeh at the PSI Grand Prix

PHILIPPINES BEST (Behrouz Elite Swimming Team) continued to make noise at the PSI Grand Prix National Finals after clinching 24 gold medals after day three of the swimfest held at the New Clark City Pool in Capas , Tarlac.

Brent International School star Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh was restless, winning two more golds, including her gold in the 200m butterfly (2:20.40).

The World Junior Championships semi-finalist also dominated the 400m individual medley in five minutes and 15.85 seconds to take her medal tally to 14, highlighted by eight gold medals.

“We have a lot of contenders on our team for the SEA Age Group Championships. We have named 20 swimmers to the Junior National Team. We hope they can all make the National Team.” said Joan Mojdeh, Philippines BEST team manager.

Peter Dean was also highlighted, delivering two more golds – 100m backstroke and 400m individual medley – along with Jules Mirandilla, John Neil Paderes and Coby Rivilla, who reigned supreme in their respective age groups.

Mirandilla topped the 200m butterfly (2:09.24) while Paderes topped the 100m backstroke (1:00.20) and Rivilla topped the 200m butterfly.

The silver medalists were Yugo Cabana (200m butterfly) and Marcus Johannes De Kam (50m freestyle) while Zahjeed Sarmiento (200m butterfly), Ivan Radovan (200m butterfly), Achi Alterado (200m butterfly) and Julian De Kam (100m backstroke) in a bronze each.

One day away from the four-day competition, Philippines BEST has so far won 24 gold, 14 silver and 17 bronze medals in the tournament organized by Philippine Swimming Inc. (PSI).

PSI will send its best junior swimmers to the 2022 Southeast Asian (SEA) Age Group Championships to be held in December in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
